With the rise in Artificial intelligence, there are so many pathways that can be used to improve all our lives. It holds incredible promise to change and benefit how we function as a community and unlock our full potential. Although I won’t be going too in-depth, this post explores how AI can help our community’s healthcare, education, and economic advancement.
AI in Healthcare
Healthcare is one area where AI could significantly benefit our community. Implementing more AI diagnostic and analytical tools enables earlier detection of diseases that disproportionately affect the community, such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and certain cardiovascular diseases, allowing for more time to plan how to combat diseases.
Telemedicine is becoming a more popular form of communication between doctors and their patients, and AI can also advance it. This is especially crucial for those in areas where medical facilities are incredibly scarce or far away. AI-implemented telemedicine platforms could potentially offer timely medical advice, monitor chronic conditions, or even diagnose through a virtual consultation. By integrating AI into healthcare, we can work towards a more equitable system where everyone in our community gets the help that they need.

I, for one, am a beneficiary of this, considering I used AI all year to help explain concepts I didn’t understand in Math class. This could especially be important in underfunded schools where students may lack the resources compared to wealthier schools.

By utilizing AI inside and outside the classroom, we can create a more inclusive and proficient learning environment, which would help our students reach their full potential.
